Hi, I’m Sharde, mother of two young girls Indie & August. After undertaking extensive house renovations in 2015 (with a three year old and one year old…what was I thinking??), I developed a passion for kids’ interior design and décor.
After spending hours online, endlessly searching for the perfect pieces for my girls’ rooms, I decided to start a Facebook and Instagram account (@indieandaugust) to save all of my gorgeous finds in one place.
Not long after I launched my social media pages, I discovered an amazing online community of talented small business owners, makers and designers – all in our own backyard! The problem was, there wasn’t a platform that could help people easily discover and shop all of these hidden treasures. That was when the idea of indieandaugust.com was born.
Our website not only offers you the assurance of original, high quality, consciously sourced products for your little ones, but also a chance to learn more about the retailers, designers and artisans behind these gorgeous products.
Hello, I’m Paula, mother of two gorgeous little humans Jaxon & Sloane. I developed a love for kids’ fashion when I had Jaxon four years ago. There weren’t a lot of options for boys in NZ at the time, so I made it my mission to hunt out funky threads for him.
When decorating Sloane’s nursery I would trawl Instagram for hours, looking for inspiration and beautiful décor items. I discovered so many hidden gems and it’s safe to say, having a little girl has turned my love for kids’ fashion and decor into a passion – but unfortunately I’ve also discovered there’s an underbelly to the industry, long story short, there’s a lot of counterfeit children’s clothing and products coming into the country. It was through the journey of trying to educate fellow consumers, with the Facebook group The Little Fashion Collective, which bought me to partner with Sharde.
Although for different reasons, we’ve both discovered the need to bring all the reputable online sellers together. Indieandaugust.com will connect you to the online world of little style. We do the research so you can shop with ease knowing you’re buying original products that have been handmade, ethically made or consciously sourced.
